Fox has announced the casting calls for the third season of So You Think You Can Dance. Looks like you are only in luck if you are in New York, Chicago, LA or Atlanta. I’m not sure where they got Atlanta. I’ve never seen Atlanta as a dance capital, but I guess they needed to cover the US as much as possible. At least 4 cities might not take as long as American Idol did to get down to 24 people.
I’m still not sure if So You Think You Can Dance season 3 will be nearly as good as season 2. Season 2 really just hit it out of the park.
Here’s the details for the open cast calls. If someone is planning on going to the casting calls and has a video of them dancing, I’d love to post their video on my blog to get you some feedback before Nigel lays into you.

If you are unable to attend the main audition date, producers will TRY to see you on the call back dates.
# Your own music must be on CD format only.
# This must be an ‘original’ song commercially available and it can not be a re-mix of a song, or a song downloaded from the internet or websites.
# You must be prepared to dance to another song from a list provided at the audition.
# The lines for the audition will be long, so please bring food and water.
# To audition for the show, you must be between the ages of 18 and 30 at the time of the audition who are either U.S. citizens, permanent residents of the U.S., or possess a current legal visa allowing them to seek employment in the U.S. without restriction as to employer.
# When available, you will need to print out the audition form, fill it out and bring it with you to the auditions.

I can’t believe I have to wait until April before I get So You Think You Can Dance again. I guess I can wait for now. I just hate waiting if it’s going to be a disappointment.
