Tony Meredith & Melanie LaPatin were the 1995 US Dance Champions

You might be wondering who Tony Meredith & Melanie LaPatin are and what they’re doing on a Reality TV blog. Well, turns out that Melanie LaPatin was the lady who danced with Pasha last night. I didn’t like watching her last night and thought she was really out of place. Below you’ll find a video of her dancing 12 years ago.

Well, I still can’t say I liked her that much. She was ok. However, I think the bar has definitely been raised over the past 12 years. About 5 years ago I saw the National Championships for Cabaret and they completely smoked what you see in the video above.

Thanks Chris for pointing this video out. Chris also observed “Yes, she’s a bit larger and thus her moves weren’t as accentuated as Pasha’s, but she still hit every move on point.” I’ll leave it at that.

She Seriously Had Gained ALOT Of Weight…..I Guess She Had A Few Kids Or Ate Alot Of Cheeseburgers….I Like Her Alot…I’ve Always Liked Her….Last Nights Performance Wasn’t Bad At All…For Her Weight Gain She Still Can Move But She Can’t Do All Of The Things That She Did When She Was UBER SKINNY

I agree that it was almost painful to watch the hottie Pasha dance with her but you have to give her credit – in an emergency she stepped up knowing that millions of judgmental people like ourselves were going to think awful things about her because no one else knew that dance well enough to give Pasha a fighting chance.

A lot of professional dancers gain weight once they retire. Come on people–if you spent about 8 hours of your day (or more) doing strenuous physical activity and then slowly stop, of course you would balloon up too. Yeah, she seemed out of place but I agree with Collectionofmemories. Beyond physical appearance, she did an amazing job.

Also, she was actually on an episode of What Not To Wear. Tony and Melanie apparently own a famous dancing studio in Times Square.

Melanie is actually one of the kindest, nicest people I know. She does own a dance studio in NYC which is where many of the top dancers go to learn. You should checkout her website. Also, she does tons of charity work for dancers and animals.
